Waste and its disposal are an important hazard factor. In a confined space, it is not only necessary to ensure that visitors are taken care of quickly, but also that waste is disposed of safely.

Sharp or pointed objects in the waste can cause injuries, which can also cause serious bacterial infections.
There is also a risk of insect bites or vermin infestation.

Employees should wear personal protective equipment when disposing of waste, such as cut-resistant gloves and safety goggles if necessary. Suitable waste containers and work materials such as brooms, dustpans, shovels and tongs should be provided.

Cigarette butts can pose a particular fire hazard in waste or in nature and should therefore be disposed of separately.

The organiser must provide information on how waste disposal is organised on site.
