Frequent and correct hand washing in the catering and hotel industry is the first and most important approach to avoid cross-contamination and to protect yourself and guests. You should always wash your hands after the following activities:
visiting the toilet returning to the kitchen and preparation areas when they have been vacated
taking out rubbish
working with cleaning products
eating, drinking, smoking and chewing gum or tobacco
working with raw meat, poultry or fish touching one's own body or clothing
sneezing, coughing or using a handkerchief
contact with money before and after wearing gloves
ATTENTION: wearing gloves does not exempt you from washing your hands!
